Raising money for the Harefield Hospital Heart & Lung Appeal - Trainer Keyrings! February 17, 2014 22:13

To help raise funds for the Harefield Hospital (specifically the Heart & Lung Appeal) I will be donating £1.00 from every sale of these keyrings to the cause.

The point of this appeal is to raise £140K to buy Organ Care Systems.

OCS kits keep recently removed hearts and lungs warm and pulsating during transportation unlike conventional transportation methods which rely on ice preservation.

This advanced equipment can keep an organ suitable for transplantation for up to 12 hours, rather than the usual 3 hours.

My mum Annie is a patient at the hospital and is currently on the priority list for a transplant after being diagnosed with Usual Interstitial Pneumonia, a terminal and aggressive form of Lung Disease caused by progressive scaring of both lungs.

This is what pushed me to start fundraising.

Mum sparked my love of footwear from a very early age so it seems right to raise funds through my love of trainers.

On the few visits we have had so far I have nothing but praise for the team there from receptionists to the surgeons and off course wonderful nurses so we need to keep pushing to raise awareness and funds!
